The app collects nothing. Your weight entries are written to your own device and stay there. The rest of this page just says that precisely.
I am Mohd Mahmodi, the individual developer who makes and publishes Ounce – Weight Trends (the app) on the App Store. The app helps you log your weight and see the trend over time. It has no account system, no server, and no reason to send anything anywhere.
I do not collect, receive, transmit, store, or share any personal information, health information, usage data, or metadata. This is reflected in the App Store listing, where the app is marked Data Not Collected.
Every weight you log, along with your goal, your units, and your history, is stored locally on the device where you entered it. There is no server behind the app, so there is nothing for me to store even if I wanted to.
The data does not sync anywhere. It is not uploaded to iCloud by the app, not shared between your devices, and not accessible to me. If you delete the app, the entries stored inside it are removed with it, so export or write down anything you want to keep before deleting.
Ounce does not read from or write to HealthKit. It does not request access to the Health app, and it does not touch any health data your other apps have written there. Weights you enter in Ounce exist only in Ounce.
The app is a logging and wellness tool. It records numbers you type in and shows you the trend they form. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, it makes no medical claims, and it is not a regulated medical device. Decisions about your health should involve a qualified professional rather than a trend line.
The app shows no advertisements and shares no data with any advertising network. It is free, with no in app purchases and no subscriptions, so it never handles payment information. Any purchase you may make through the App Store in future would be processed entirely by Apple, and I would not receive your payment details.
The app works entirely offline. It does not call third party APIs, and it does not include software development kits that would collect information about you.
Privacy law gives you the right to ask a company what it holds about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted. In this case there is nothing to ask for, because I hold no data about you at all. You already have complete control: the entries live on your device, and deleting them in the app or deleting the app removes them.
Because the app collects no personal information at all, it is safe for users of any age. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, or from anyone else.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Since I do not collect your email address, there is no mailing list to notify, so check back here if it matters to you.
